Out of this World- Launch Day

Yesterday, 5PH, along with the rest of the school, travelled around the world taking part in new experiences and learning new facts about the countries: USA, Brazil, Greece and Iceland. Firstly they travelled to the USA and became cheerleaders and 'Pop art' artists. Next, they travelled to Greece and made fig leaf head pieces and tried Greek cuisine. After Greece, was a trip to Iceland, where they learnt some Icelandic phrases, learnt about the two differing terrains and took part in some volcanic art. Finally, they landed in Brazil to learn about the different animals that live in the rainforest and produced masks of them then found out about the interesting world of Fair Trade!

The children had lots of fun and their behaviour was exemplary moving from classroom to classroom.

Below, is a few photographs from the day.

Happy half term!

Hi 5PH,

I hope you are all having a lovely half term break with your families.

If you are able to fit in a little school work, please continue to read, read, read and learn last weeks spellings ready for a test next week. These are 5/6 spellings and a little tricky, which is why I have given you extra weeks to practise.

Next week, we will be jetting off 'Out of this World' for our new topic and as well as changes in the classroom, me and Miss Doorbar have been busy planning exciting lessons for you with a fabulous celebration event at the end. Details regarding the celebration event will be shared with children and parents next week.

See you Monday,

Miss Pinder

Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday it is Safer Internet Day. In class, the children will be taking part in activities to discuss how the internet can be a place to be positive with other people and not be used to upset people. The theme is CREATE, CONNECT and SHARE RESPECT. The children will be creating a piece of work which will be photographed and put on the blog. I would then appreciate it if families could make positive comments about the children's work which can then be shared with them to show how the internet can be used to connect people and show respect to each other.

I will send a text message out later in the week with a reminder. If you want to know more about what is happening on Tuesday, please follow the link below.

Thank you for your support,

Miss Pinder
